My name is Cami Bern and I am 17 years old and in the 12th grade. Although I can’t feel or ever plan to feel what you’re going through until much later in my life, I sympathize with you over the unexpected pregnancy news you have received. I do however support your decision in carrying the baby to full term and giving it up for adoption to Mark and Vanessa instead of the alternate route of aborting the baby. That was probably the biggest choice you’ll ever have to make. Abortion is a huge topic that most kids your age would probably choose to do because it's the easiest thing to do. When your step mother brought it up about you even wanting to abort the baby, I was proud you said no. I too was adopted and I am glad I was given the opportunity to live and become adopted into a family instead of being a statistic of all the unwanted pregnancies.

I do have one question however: Why did you feel as if you needed to have sex with Bleaker at such a young age? I feel like sex is something special you do with your husband or wife, not something you do when you’re bored with a boy who wears his pants too short and eats orange tic-tacs. Unprotected sex has consequences and you clearly had to go through that. Your life may go back to normal now that the baby has been born, but you will never forget the baby you carried and wonder what it is doing or how different your life would've been if you had the normal junior year of high school. Why’d you risk it? You have our whole life ahead of you to fall in love and when the right time comes, then it's okay to have a baby.

I hope in your future years of being sexually active, you will choose to be more careful. Don't have a repeat of what happened! Be smart when having sex if you choose to do so before you're married. It's time to start acting like an adult and thinking before doing.
Good luck with Bleaker and all! Go to college.

Sincerely,
Cami
